Any progress made in NBA 2K21's MyTEAM mode on current-gen systems will be transferable to next-gen consoles, too, 2K has confirmed. Your "entire" balance of VC - which, predictably enough, stands for virtual currency - will also transfer over, as well as "MyTEAM points, pulled cards, and Tokens".

2K Games has revealed that NBA 2K21 will support cross-progression across the MyTEAM mode. While no saved data will transfer across other game modes, everything from MyTEAM will transfer across to next-gen platforms. Of course, progress will only carry over for users playing on the same family of consoles, as with cross-gen releases for other games. According to Visual Concepts executive producer Erick Boenisch, players will be able to switch between the same family of consoles as much as they want, as this is not a one-time transfer. NBA 2K21 will not offer a free upgrade, so players who want access to both versions of the game will need to purchase the $99.99 "Mamba Forever Edition" of the game.
